Gente de la tierra

Maybe industrializing developing countries is not the answer. Watch this video about Los jaguares (and not the Mexican) in the Yurupari region in Colombia. I think they know a thing or two about sustainability:

If they can learn to co-exist with other cultures and respect their way of "manejar su vida", or managing their lives, then why can't we? Enjoy this video and think a little bit more about planting something, riding your bike or using re-usable containers. It my seem hippy, but not to these guys.

Fairy tales can come true, it could happen to you...

Why doesn't everyone believe in Climate Change? Even if it is just a fairy tale, it could happen. Even if it weren't true the just a mere 2 degree Celsius change in atmospheric temperature could cause catastrophic natural disasters for our planet, why not live like it could?

The delegates of over 194 nations are meeting this week in Durban South Africa to discuss advances in climate responsibility. For example, who will pay for proper industrial development in developing countries? Seems important, right?

It's more than that; it's critical. The fears of one scientist were written in an email: “All of these [natural disasters] indicate that inaction in dealing with climate change and delays would only expose human society and all living species to risk that could become serious,” Dr. Pachauri wrote in an e-mail. He said he was afraid the conference would “only focus on short-term political considerations.”
